Auckland Coastguard is a vital volunteer marine rescue organization dedicated to saving lives at sea. Operational since 1934, their mission is to ensure that everyone can enjoy the waters of Aotearoa New Zealand safely and with confidence. They operate a fleet of three dedicated rescue vessels, manned by skilled volunteers, providing 24/7 emergency assistance across the Hauraki Gulf. The organization is the foundation of a network of nine units around the Gulf, all working towards the common goal of maritime safety.
