2019’s launches and motoryachts

September 27, 2019 By aowb

Running swift
Following the success of the Swift Trawler 35, which dominated the long cruiser segment for nearly eight years, 36 Degrees will be showcasing the next generation successor. This exciting release from Beneteau has revealed a new version which is stylishly modern with well-utilised interior spaces and the utmost feeling of safety on board. The Swift Trawler 35 is both fuel-efficient and imbued with new and improved speed capabilities, designed to get you further, faster. See her on the marina with 36 Degrees at M36

Big, powerful, beautiful

Aquila’s 44 Power Cat demonstrates an abundance of space with a high-quality finish and plenty of power. Easily cruising at 18 knots with economical burn figures, the Aquila 44 has multiple areas for socialising making her an entertainer’s dream. A huge full beam master suite holds a king sized bed, separate office, plenty of storage and large shower, and is complemented by either two or three more cabins as per the owner’s choice. The Aquila 44 is truly a party lover’s dream – find her on the marina, M37, with NZ Boat Sales

The Grand tourer
A sport cruiser with classy, sharp lines and all the creature comforts needed for luxurious living is summed up in Beneteau’s stunning Gran Turismo 40. Fast and fuel-efficient, the Gran Turismo 40 has proven an ideal option for Kiwi on-water lifestyles. Expert Italian interior designers have created beautiful spaces to enjoy inside, with a stunning master cabin and innovative use of space throughout. The Gran Turismo 40 is a beautiful blend of speed, comfort and stability, and can be loaded with extras for the ultimate in boating experience. See her on the marina, M36, with 36 Degrees

A Spacious Coupe

The Bavaria S36 Coupe is high volume, two cabin sports cruiser with an island berth in the bow and twin single transverse berths in the mid cabin that can be converted into a second double. Below deck the S36 Hard Top is bright with wide windows, and intelligent features like a large galley and generous storage. Above deck, three distinct zones allow for plenty of space for the whole family to relax without getting in each other’s hair. See Busfield Marine on the marina, M01, to discover her in person

The Hybrid head-turner
Greenline’s 39 is a slick, design-led hybrid which shows green credentials are well and truly cool. Expansive solar paneling and copious amounts of wrap-around windows along with a walk-around deck, and glass panoramic views both above and below deck, create a bright interior that feels larger than most comparable boats. The standard layout offers owners a forward master cabin with a secondary twin-berth with option to convert to double and a single. She’s presented by Hybrid Boats, on the marina at M42

Made to be admired
Launched to wide acclaim last year, the Maritimo X60 aft cabin is a world first in its class, giving owners a new level of versatility and offering three distinct configurations: a beach club, expansive tender garage or an additional queen stateroom. Much admired for its ability to be customised to suit an owner’s needs, this is also a vessel which is has visual appeal by the tender load. Head to the Maritimo stand, M29, on the marina to get onboard.

Lashings of Prestige
The Prestige 630S has a powerful and robust hull design combined with a superior level of interior detail. Theres nothing quite like the sporty feel of an express yacht with an open sunroof and fresh air coursing through the boat, though on the other hand, there’s much to be said for the cool, calm serenity of the salon in a traditional motor yacht when underway. With the recent invention of the sport yacht concept, you can have it either way. Visit Orakei Marine on the marina to see it for yourself at M32

Take it in Platinum
Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is a single level entertainer that raises the bar with intelligent design in a luxury sports package. The superbly-equipped cockpit has two large lounges, protected under the rear awning that forms the al fresco dining and socialising hub. A wet bar, waterfall benchtops, central helm stations, Volvo IPS 950 (533kW/725hp) diesel engines for impressive acceleration, and a full beam master suite are just some of the features you’ll love. Find her with Riviera at M30, on the marina.

Absolutely yes
The Absolute 58 Fly has grace, elegance and optimised space in abundance. Available in a spacious three cabin, three head layout that features a full beam master at midships with an option for a fourth cabin aft with access from the swim platform – this is a lot of boat for an excellent price. Demonstrating the trifecta of balance, performance and ease of use, the Absolute 58 Flybridge’s IPS system drastically reduces consumption while delivering low noise, low environmental impact and no vibrations. See her on the marina with Yachtfinders Global at M48

A

Princess by name…

Sports Marine is bringing Princess Yachts to the show and will have the beautiful P56 to explore before the brand new Princess V60 lands in December. With Princess Yachts’ characteristic elegant approach, the V60 puts an emphasis on sociable areas, with open-plan dining area, fully equipped wet bar with barbecue and generous seating areas. Six guests are accommodated in a full beam owner’s cabin, two guest cabins and the option of a crew cabin. See Sports Marine at M16

Supercar-inspired performance
Winner of multiple awards on its debut in the US including Best New Powerboat and Best Powerboat Overall at the Newport International Boat Show, the Palm Beach GT50 is a supercar-inspired high-performance luxury cruiser with turn-key simplicity. With blistering top speeds in the 40 knot region, easy operation, timeless lines and modern interiors, all in a light-weight, low maintenance package, the GT50 is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. She’s on show with Grand Banks – Palm Beach Motoryachts on the marina at M45

Like many in New Zealand’s marine industry, Smuggl Like many in New Zealand’s marine industry, Smuggler Marine is a family-owned business which has evolved and grown alongside the Auckland Boat Show.

Smuggler Marine, as it was rebranded in 2004, started life in 1986 as David Pringle Boatbuilders, mainly building yachts including some of the iconic Ross 930s and Elliot 1050s that are still sailing today.

In 2004 the business moved into powerboats and created its very first Smuggler.

“That’s when we started focusing on the boat show market,” says Pauline Pringle. “Boat shows were the way we made sure everyone knew what a Smuggler was.”

“The Auckland Boat Show is in a great location, high end, people are there to buy boats, and it’s full of opportunity for our business. We love the customers, the variety of people and exhibitors and the end of summer vibe.”

Meet the Smuggler team at the Auckland Boat Show 2026, 5-8 March.
