World-leading marine innovation to be presented at Auckland Boat Show

January 10, 2025 By aowb

The latest releases from New Zealand’s innovative marine industry will be presented in Auckland in March.

The Auckland Boat Show will return to the Viaduct Events Centre and Jellicoe Harbour and will continue its tradition of bringing together the best releases of the year’s innovations from New Zealand marine companies.

The annual event acts as a new release hub for New Zealand’s marine companies as they showcase their innovative products and leading vessels. The summer event sees boatbuilders of trailer boats, RIBS, motor and sail yachts from across the country make the journey to Auckland to demonstrate their vessels in the country’s most-bustling marinas.

Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders which built Catalyst boats for both Alinghi and INEOS, will present the same vessel to consumers at the central Auckland show along with other New Zealand-designed launches. Likewise, Auckland-based company Rayglass, which supplied Protector vessels for officials and the race village, will display its vessels to the public in March.

Tickets went on sale November 20 for the event, which in 2024 featured New Zealand debuts of boats built in Spain, Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Finland and Australia, while presenting a huge proportion of newly-built New Zealand boats.

The show’s remit to present nearly 400 boats in central Auckland, and provide a launching point for new marine releases, has made it a favourite on the southern hemisphere marine calendar.

Sea trials mean that not only can show visitors learn about new products, vessels and services, they can experience them on the Waitematā Harbour.

“We were so proud to see Emirates Team New Zealand’s win in Barcelona, and we’re absolutely thrilled to help local companies present their innovative technology to New Zealand consumers first,” says event organiser Stacey Cook.

“We’re a marine nation and it makes sense that we lead the world in creating better ways to be safer, faster, and more sustainable on the water.”

Tickets are on sale now, with the chance to win great prize giveaways when you buy online.
