Join the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron anytime during the Auckland On-Water Boat Show and they will waive the $550 joining fee.
The RNZYS, located on the idyllic waterfront at Westhaven Marina and beneath the harbour bridge, is arguably one of the best spots in the city. Whether you own a boat or not, the RNZYS offers a great diversity of events and activities on and off the water that appeal to all interests and ages.
If sailing is your thing then you won’t need to look any further for a great club to join. The RNZYS run hundreds of races every year to suit all types of yachts, whether it’s the Club Marine Insurance Winter or Wednesday Series where over 100 boats of all sizes take to the water, or a more casual approach like Friday night rum races or the Club Marine Insurance Cruising Series that includes over six superb weekend long cruising races around the Hauraki Gulf.
Even if you don’t know how to sail, the RNZYS offers a world class learn to sail programme that will take you from a beginner right through to an accomplished racer.
The Squadron also has a large amount of launch and power boat owner members who also join in the cruising series, Squadron picnics and the RNZYS fishing division competitions, to name a few.
Off the water the Squadron has a massive range of events each year including the charity regatta, golf day, specific ladies events, parties, speaker’s series lunches/dinners, and much more.
By becoming a member you can also enjoy the beautiful members bar for lunch, dinner or just drinks which is open 7 days a week all year round.
If that’s not enough, the Squadron is also the Home of the America’s Cup and is going to be the best place to be come the America’s Cup in 2021, when they will also be celebrating their 150th year.
