Pest Free Hauraki Gulf is a joint Auckland Council/Department of Conservation biosecurity programme to protect the Hauraki Gulf from unwanted pests. We invite all those who enjoy the gulf to help us protect the Gulf, which is now home to some of our rarest and most endangered species - including tuatara, kiwi and takahe. Many islands are pest free or partially pest free, and we aim to keep it that way.
