For school holiday entertainment, step right this way. This year’s show is packed full of fun for kids – from a treasure hunt with fishing legends Scott & Mig to seeing the America’s Cup itself – there’s plenty to keep them (and you!) occupied – and kids under 15 visit free!
Tag & Release with Scott & Mig
When you arrive at the show, head to the info counter at the entrance to the Eastern Viaduct Pavilion to pick up a Tag & Release Comp map. From there, take off on your big adventure around the event as you try to find the three cardboard cut outs of Scott & Mig around the show. Each cut out has a stamp attached which you can use to stamp your map with and once your map’s complete (and mum and dad are finished looking around the show) bring your map back to the info desk and you’ll go in the draw to win a Scott & Mig Kids Club pack.
See the America’s Cup
If you’re a budding sailor and you’d like to see your future hardware, head to the Official Emirates Team New Zealand Shop to see the America’s Cup. Located right next to our Karanga Plaza marquee, it’ll be on show on Saturday 5th October from 11am – 2pm for you to getup close and personal with this very special piece of New Zealand’s sailing history.
The perfect boat to be introduced to sailing – for kids and adults alike – Weta Trimarans are extremely stable as well as very, very fun. Deliberately crafted for stability and versatility, the Weta is easy to sail with the family. The kids feel safe, and they learn the most important thing about sailing: that it’s tons of fun!
You’ll spot the Navy Cadets around the show helping us out as this year’s show ambassadors. Navy cadets is a leadership and activity-based programme run independently of, but alongside the New Zealand Defence Force and helps young Aucklanders learn the skills that will see them succeed in life, whatever path they choose to take. We’re so proud to be partnering with them this year and you’ll see them around the show helping us out, taking surveys, as well as taking entries for our fantastic The Moorings prize for a trip to Tonga.
